Lowfied is hosting a rap song competition. Participants will be tasked with creating a rap song using a sample provided exclusively by Lowfied. While you have the freedom to explore any genre that speaks to your soul, your song must incorporate the provided sample in a unique and imaginative way.

Rules & Prizes
Here are some guidelines you must follow, in order to be eligible for the contest.
1. The Contest Submission period begins on MAY 17th 2023.
2. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
3. All participants are required to use the provided sample in their song creation.
4. Your song should be a minimum of 1 min 45 seconds, and maximum of 4 minutes. (Entries below or above will not be allowed).
5. Only one entry per contestant, duplicate entries will be disqualified.
6. Cover art for your content should not be explicit or contain any kind of nudity.
7. Minimum age limit is 14 yrs. old.
8. Show us your flow, your rhythm, and your storytelling prowess as you make your mark on the music scene.
9. The order of remixes in the playlist displayed under "Entries" on the contest page is randomized and determined by a combination of factors such as the submission upload time and a randomized placement algorithm. This list and the order of submissions will NOT determine the winner of the contest.
10. You are only allowed to use the stems for the purpose of the contest. Due to copyright matters, Lowfied cannot give you permission to upload a track that contains provided by Lowfied on streaming platforms (e.g. Spotify, YouTube, SoundCloud etc.)
11. The final song should be submitted in MP3 format with a bitrate of 320KBPS, and uncompressed WAV format with 16 bits, stereo, and a sample rate of 44.1kHz.
12. The track must not contain any material that hurts or violates someone’s personal rights, religious sentiments, incites violence or creates derogatory remarks about someone’s sexuality or belief. The track must not invade someone’s privacy or other rights of a person, firm or entity.
13. The track must not contain any copyrighted elements not owned by the team.
14. Using sound samples and sampling from already existing songs is prohibited. However, royalty-free sound samples are allowed.
15. The track should be below 100 MB. The track must be named in this given format Artist-Names_Song-Name_Genre_BPM_Key (For Example: Big-John,Slim-Joe_Caliberate_Hip-Hop_140_Bm.Wav).
16. Entries will be evaluated by a panel of music industry professionals based on:
  1. Originality: The creativity and uniqueness of the composition, lyrics, melody, and overall concept.
  2. Musicality: The technical skill, proficiency, and artistry demonstrated in the performance, instrumentation, and arrangement.
  3. Lyricism: The quality, depth, and effectiveness of the lyrics in conveying emotion, storytelling, and thematic relevance.
  4. Production Quality: The overall sound quality, mixing, mastering, and production values of the recording.
  5. Impact and Engagement: The ability of the song to captivate, connect with, and resonate with the audience.
  6. Commercial Viability: The potential appeal, marketability, and suitability of the song for commercial release or wider distribution.
17. Winners will be announced on July 13 2024 on Lowfied’s Instagram Page as well as on the website.
18. Lowfied may add to or amend these rules at any time of the competition of the music challenge, without informing the participants.

- Music Producers: If you excel in producing beats and music, you can create a track using the provided sample and find a rapper to collaborate with.
- Rappers: If rapping is your forte, either produce the music yourself or team up with a music producer.
- Both: If you have skills in both rapping and producing, you can handle the entire project on your own, giving you a greater creative control and a win-win advantage.
No, only one entry per contestant is allowed.
No, participation in the Lowfied Desi Hip Hop Challenge is completely free.
While we encourage creative expression, we ask that you keep your lyrics respectful and avoid explicit content.
Winners will be chosen based on criteria such as lyrical content, flow, creativity, and adherence to the competition rules, as determined by Lowfied Panel.
Yes, you will retain all rights to your submission. However, by entering the competition, you grant Lowfied the right to use your entry for promotional purposes. Click here to learn more.
Any genre like Hip Hop, Trap, Super Trap or any other Hip Hop inspired sub genre, as long as rap is a major part of it.
